Five for Friday

Happy Friday!! Congrats to all you working teachers that have successfully made it another Friday.
Relax and enjoy, you earned it.

My five for Friday will be very child/baby oriented as I am on mat leave...sorry if it's not too exciting.

My daycare provider fell and broke a few ribs on Wednesday so she asked that I keep my oldest daughter home with the baby and I the last 2 days. Even though it's been exhausting, I have learned that I can survive the day taking care of a newborn and a pre-schooler all by myself!

The trick has been an outing every day! We are going to try a new pre-school class at the library on Monday...maybe it'll become a weekly thing.

I love my ring sling. It has saved the day many a time in the past 2 months. Like right now as I type on the island in my kitchen while my baby sleeps...finally.

Bouncing a baby for hours on end is like an extreme exercise class. My calves and thighs are killing me.

No matter how tired or stressed I get, when my baby smiles or my daughter hugs me everything is right with the world again.

It's 8:04 and I plan to be in bed in the next 30 minutes or less!

Five for Friday

I am exhausted...

That's it.

But, I wanted join in for the Five for Friday fun so here we go.

I made this hat for my new baby...I'm at 38 weeks! Can't wait, yet sooo nervous. What'll it be like with two kids?

I caught some kind of sinus cold this week and in two days have already used at least 2 full boxes of kleenex. I've been using Hydra Sense since I can't take anything and it feels like I'm drowning every time.

This is my daughter and our dog. My heart melts every time I look at it.

I still have a pretty big list of things I need to get before the baby arrives. But there's time. Right?

I just ordered this from Zulily this week using a credit I had on my account! Can't wait.

Five for Friday

This is my first time linking up with Five for Friday over at Doodle Bugs Teaching! I know, where have I been? But I thought this would be a good way to continue to share my teaching thoughts while I am on mat leave (6 weeks till my due date!) and don't really have a classroom.

So here we go!

I love this idea for Science vocabulary words I found over at the Science Penguin. How cute would this be? And a great way to integrate literacy with your science program.

I LOVE this idea!! 100 bead strings..think of the possibilities. I also love DIY math manipulatives. I found this amazing idea over at The Elementary Math Maniac. The post explains how to make the bead strings and how they can be used in the class. Genius.

This next find is from Pinterest and it links back to a twitpic not a blog. If you've seen it before and know where it came from, please let me know.

As I've posted before I started using The Power of Retelling to format by large group reading instruction. This retelling rope would be an excellent addition to small group activities based on our larger lessons.

I am excited to find a use for these in my math centres next year. They are from 3rd Grade Thoughts and are available in her TPT store.

Lastly, is this great Writer's Workshop anchor chart...but the pin also doesn't lead to the actual site!
Again, if you know who it belongs to please let me know.

And that's it for my first Five for Friday! Have a great weekend.
